At the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street, Durham take on Nottinghamshire in the County Championship, August 2011. The distance between the two sets of stumps on a cricket pitch is twenty-two yards, or one chain. The batsman has about half a second to react to a ball from a fast bowler at this level of the game.
