The materials in this section of Clay Lane have been specially created for it by the editor, Nicholas.

The title is taken from Think and Speak, published in 1929 and written by NL Clay; however, while the exercises are modelled on this and other books by Clay, they are not those books themselves. Clay Lane follows the example of Straightforward English (1949), and is aimed at self-tutoring adults.
