Not a Scratch!

In 1898, some Russian anarchists tried to blow up a Church containing a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary, fearing the icon’s reputation for the miraculous legitimised the Tsars. No one was killed, but there was extensive damage all around, except to the icon in its glass case, which was quite unharmed.
