Kipling’s Proof

Rudyard Kipling pretended to prove the existence of God by saying that although English town-dwellers might think Man is the maker of things, Indians knew better. The Raj was founded on a principle of responsible government, so if there was no God for Queen Victoria to be responsible to the whole colonial system would be false — an illogical conclusion.
